Problems and possible solutions encountered in the application of the Value-Added Tax (KDV) and the law itself were discussed at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Extended Tax Consultation Council Meeting.​

 

Attending the meeting were TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete, TOBB Board Member Mustafa Yardımcı, TOBB Tax Consultation Council President Fatih Dural, members Abdullah Aslan, Mustafa Gözübüyük, Mahmut Kutlucan, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Saygılıoğlu, Murat Semercigil, Sakıp Şeker, Abdulkadir Hastaoğlu and many representatives of numerous Chambers/Exchanges and Turkey Sector Councils.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete stated that they want to find out the thoughts and wishes of chambers, exchanges and sector councils regarding value-added tax.

TOBB Tax Consultation Council President Fatih Dural stated that the work on the KDV Law was the best legal effort put forth in the last 30 years, however there have been many changes to the law and over time, complaints have increased. Dural stated that they have been working in regards to the KDV with 50 experts over 2 years, and said, “Tax laws are only viable if they are able to conform to commercial life.”
