Automotive Industry Council discussed current issues

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Automotive Industry Council Meeting was held via video conference under the chairmanship of Council President Cengiz Eroldu with the participation of TOBB Board Member Responsible for the Council, Davut Çetin.​

TOBB Board Member Davut Çetin, stated that the pandemic has been a very dynamic process, all automotive factories have begun production during the normalization process and that all the demands in this process were communicated to the relevant Ministers through The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Çetin reported that the first five months of 2019, 120,000 car sales increased by 15% in the first 5 months of 2020 to reach 146,000 sales, but given the base effect of 2016 sales are still far behind, in 2019 with low interest campaign and scrap incentive, the sector is stimulated by low interest campaign and scrap incentive, the public banks started to implement in 2019 announced that the sector was revived by the resurgence of interest rate reduction.
