Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Ender YORGANCILAR was born in İzmir in 1957 and graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Marketing.  He speaks English. He is married, has a son and a grandson.

He served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Aegean Foundation for Economic Development between 2000-2002 and as Member of the Board for the Foreign Economic Relations Board for the 2014-2015 periods. He has been a Member of the Assembly of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO) since 1994 and served as Member of the Executive Board for six years, President of Assembly between 2005-2008 and President of the Executive Board between 2009-2012. The ensuing three years (2013 – 2016) was a remarkable period in EBSO’s history; Mr Yorgancilar has gained more strength by participating in the elections under single list, without any competition and hence renewed his tenure as Chairman of the Board.

He served as a Member of the Executive Board of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) between May 2009 and July 2013 and was re-elected for TOBB’s Executive Board as the Vice President at the Chamber’s 69th General Assembly Meeting held on the 1st of August 2013. Notably, Mr.Yorgancilar is the first and only President of EBSO that has been designated to the Board of TOBB for two consecutive terms.

Mr. Yorgancılar has been the Honorary Consul of the Philippines since 2007 and promoted to Consul General in 2014. Besides being a Member of the Executive Board and the Board of Trustees of many institutions and organizations such as Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), TOBB University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETÜ), International Trade Centers Inc (TOBTIM),  Foundation of World SME Forum, Izmir Development Agency (IZKA), Aegean Free Zone Inc. (ESBAS), Izmir's Economic Development Coordination Committee,  Izmir Fair Services, Culture and Art Affairs (İZFAŞ), Izmir Tourism Foundation (IZTAV), he is also the Founding Member and President of Advisory Board of Aegean Young Businessmen Association and one of the Immediate Past Presidents and Founding Members of Karşıyaka Rotary Club and Member of Karşıyaka Sports Club.

He strongly believes that the best way of faithfully fulfilling his responsibility to the city and the country he was born and raised in, is to make concrete contributions to the city’s fields of Health and Education. In alignment with his beliefs that only the countries which have their own technology can truly be independent, Turkey has to be among the technology producing countries in order to make the country’s economy competitive to international standards and furthermore reduce the current deficit. He subsequently established Izeltas Research and Development Center which has achieved great and rarely seen success in Turkey.
