Öztürk Oran was born in Kars in 1956. He graduated from Erzurum Kazim Karabekir Education Institute Turkish Language and Literature Department. He also completed the specialization program for Budgeting and Standard Costs at the Institute of Banking and Commercial Law and the Accounting Institute of Istanbul University Business School.
Oran began his career as a clerk in Turkey Vakıfbank TAO in 1974. Meanwhile, a 3 year period with the Banks Association of Turkey in the Foreign Trade Training Center, English, Accounting and Banking Management training has been successfully completed outstanding. Between 1989 and 1990, he studied foreign languages in England.
Oran, after working at Turkey Vakıfbank TAO for 12 years, 16 years in Faisal Finance Participation Bank for a total of 28 years of in the banking profession at every level from civil servant to board member, he stepped into business in 2001 as chairman of the pharmaceutical companies where he was a commercial partner.
Oran was also in charge of many NGOs and foundations such as the Orphans Association, the Orphans Foundation and the KAI Foundation.
Oran, a Member of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Assembly and Board of Directors as well as a member of the Board of Directors of World Trade Center, has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Istanbul Commerce University, in addition to being the president of the İTO Board of Directors for 4 months and is now the Chairman of the of the Assembly.
In 2014 he returned to banking again at Turkey Vakıfbank TAO for three years as Board Member until 2017, establishing the Vakıf Participation Bank in the meanwhile. Since 2015, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vakıf Participation Bank Co. Inc.
Oran was elected to the Board of Directors of TOBB on 14 05.2018. He speaks intermediate level English and is the father of two daughters.
