He was born in 1969 in İstanbul. He graduated from Behçet Kemal Çağlar High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in "International Relations" from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics. He studied "Maritime Management - Diploma In Ship Management" at London City College in London, and started his career in 1990 at Kıran Holding, the family company operating in the fields of ship owning and shipyards. He is currently serving as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors.
On April 8, 2018, he was elected as the 8th Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMEAK Chamber of Shipping as a result of the Chamber of Shipping organ elections in Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean and Black Sea regions. Along with this duty, he is still the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye.
Besides these duties;
- Member of the Board of Trustees of Piri Reis University,
- Member of the Board of Directors of Turkish Ship-owners Employers' Association,
- Board Member of TURMEPA Deniztemiz Association,
- He is a member of the Executive Board of DEIK - Turkish-Malta Business Council.
Apart from these duties, in the past ;
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Maritime Education Foundation between 2006-2014,
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Economic Development Foundation between 2007-2014,
- Member of the Board of Directors of Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club between 2012-2013,
- Between 2011-2014, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the "International Chamber of Shipping" representing the "IMEAK Chamber of Shipping",
- He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Shipowners Employers' Association between 2014-2018.
