TOBB, a role model for the world
The TOBB Financial General Assembly took place at the TOBB University of Economy and Technology. Speaking at the General Assembly, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that TOBB is the private sector’s strength, born of its unity and said, “Thanks to this tradition which is an example both Turkey and the world, our Chamber and Exchange structure is being shown as an example to all of the countries in our region by the OECD.”

A visit to Anıtkabir was made lead by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu on the occasion of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey’s (TOBB) Financial General Assembly, the delegation also stood in tribute in the presence of the Forefather.

According to the study undertaken by the Media Monitoring Agency Interpress where approximately 2,000 local, regional and national newspapers and magazines were reviewed, last month, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) was mentioned in 2,677 articles in the press.

Buying illegal goods is being accessory to crime
TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Illegal goods deceive the consumer. Illegal goods present a serious health hazard. Illegal goods threaten the security of your private information. Buying illegal goods is being accessory to crime. The trading of illegal goods is unfair to the honest investor. Illegal goods increase unemployment.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu reelected as Vice President to the ICCIA
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has been reelected to the office of Board Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA). Hisarcıklıoğlu is quite remarkable as the only person to hold office in both Eurochambres, Europe’s highest level representation of chambers, and ICCIA, the umbrella organization of the chambers of 57 Islamic countries.

Memorial forest for Hisarcıklıoğlu from the residents of Elazığ
A memorial forest is being planted in Elazığ for TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. As a part of the “One Becomes a Thousand and One” project, 1001 pine saplings will be planted by the Elazığ Commerce Exchange in a plot next to the Livestock Products Organized Industry Zone.

Counterfeiting and piracy are risking Turkey’s development speed and our health
In his speech at the 7th Global Congress on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy, of which TOBB is a private sector partner of, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that what is at stake in regards to counterfeiting and piracy is Turkey’s economy’s development speed, the health of its citizens and the tax income of the government.
