Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The World Federation of Chambers (WCF) Europe and Asia Summit Gala Dinner brought together a large number of global business people who attended the event. WCF and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked the participants and those who contributed.​

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Federation of Chambers (WCF) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), attended the non-EU members committee meeting of the European Union of Chambers (Eurochambres), of which he is Vice President. The EU enlargement process and the work carried out by Eurochambres for candidate countries in this field were discussed at the meeting in İstanbul.​

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Federation of Chambers (WCF) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), met with Ahmet Al Wakil, President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, who attended the WCF Europe-Asia summit.​

World Federation of Chambers (WCF) and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Mehmet Musayev, President of the Confederation of Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariev, President of the Kyrgyzstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dovran Vakhabov, President of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turgay Deniz, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Orhan Mammedov, President of the Azerbaijan SMEA, and Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkish Investment Fund, and discussed the activities and future projects of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry. ​

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), stated that they are very concerned about the rise of protectionism that threatens global trade, businesses and especially SMEs, and said, “We believe that the World Trade Organization (WTO) must be reformed so that global trade can remain fair and competitive.”​

Speaking at the World Chambers Federation (WCF) General Council Meeting, WCF and Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the barriers in global trade pose an obstacle to countries like Türkiye that want to grow their economy and integrate into the global supply chain and said, “We have a strong will as WCF and TOBB on fair, balanced and free trade.”​

Participating in the WCF Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting held at İstanbul Rixos Hotel within the scope of the World Federation of Chambers (WCF) Europe and Asia Summit, WCF President and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu made evaluations here.​

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Federation of Chambers (WCF) and President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), discussed the three-day World Federation of Chambers Europe and Asia Summit in İstanbul and the issues on the agenda with Philippe Varin, President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).​

Türkiye-European Union (EU) Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) Co-Chairman and President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “There are serious problems in obtaining visas to travel to EU member countries. This problem needs to be solved urgently. In addition, the existing transportation quotas in road transportation delay the delivery of imported and exported goods. It also increases costs. We need to solve the problem of road transportation quotas.”​

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 142nd Anniversary Tax and Ali Bahar Special Awards Ceremony Program hosted by Yusuf Hacısüleyman, Chairman of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry.​
