Speaking at the 15th Turkish Arab Economic Forum, M. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Federation of Chambers (WCF) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), attended the non-EU members committee meeting of the European Union of Chambers (Eurochambres), of which he is Vice President. The EU enlargement process and the work carried out by Eurochambres for candidate countries in this field were discussed at the meeting in İstanbul.​

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Mehmet Musayev, President of the Confederation of Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariev, President of the Kyrgyzstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dovran Vakhabov, President of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Turgay Deniz, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Orhan Mammedov, President of the Azerbaijan SMEA, and Ambassador Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkish Investment Fund, and discussed the activities and future projects of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Commerce and Industry. ​

“The WTO must be reformed so that global trade can remain fair and competitive”

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), stated that they are very concerned about the rise of protectionism that threatens global trade, businesses and especially SMEs, and said, “We believe that the World Trade Organization (WTO) must be reformed so that global trade can remain fair and competitive.”​

Speaking at the World Chambers Federation (WCF) General Council Meeting, WCF and Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the barriers in global trade pose an obstacle to countries like Türkiye that want to grow their economy and integrate into the global supply chain and said, “We have a strong will as WCF and TOBB on fair, balanced and free trade.”​
