TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech at the Thrace Regional Consultation Meeting that, “There are ports, airlines, railways and highways in Thrace. Thrace is also a gateway to Europe and next to a rich market with a population of 500 million,” emphasizing opportunities ahead of the region.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Edirne Governor Ekrem Canalp with the Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan. Hisarcıklıoğlu and Pekcan made evaluations with Vali Canalp, regarding the situation, expectations, and works of the tradesmen in Edirne. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan visited TOBB Edirne Women Entrepreneurs Board Rural Village's Natural Village Market.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan visited the Edirne Commodity Exchange and made observations. Hisarcıklıoğlu and Pekcan, who received information about the activities of the Exchange from the Chairman of Edirne Commodity Exchange, Özay Öztürk, also participated in a sample sale process. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Kapıkule Customs Gate and TIR Park together with the Trade Minister, Ruhsar Pekcan.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETU) 2017-2018 Academic Year Inauguration and 2018-2019 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was hosted by TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Güven Sak the at TOBB ETU Sports Hall.​

Speaking at the Turkey-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum promotion meeting, Union of Chambers and Stock Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of reviving the Investment Advisory Council. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it would be beneficial to give responsibility to the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce in this regard.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 3rd Trade Ministry Advisory Board meeting chaired by Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan Department of Commerce.​

Led by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in partnership with Turkey Economic Policies Research Foundation (TEPAV), implemented with European Union finance, the Expert Hands Project (“Mahir Eller” Project) will determine the professional skills of 30,000 people and competence of 20,000 people will be documented; employment will be provided for 3,000 people.​

The Union of Chambers and Stock Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed disagreement with the law proposal which would allow Chamber-Exchange-Union presidents who had to leave their positions in order to take part in parliamentary representative elections to return to previous positions if they were not elected.​
