Hisarcıklıoğlu declared honorary Edirne resident

The Municipality Council of Edirne has decided to render unto TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Hohenheim University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Raupp with honorary Edirne residencies.​

Visit to Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Meeting with the Council Members along with the Board Chairman Recep Zıpkınkurt and Council Chair Mehmet Eren, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Edirne and Bursa have impressed him greatly and said, “Edirne is far ahead of all others in the rate of women’s employment. To this end, we would like to see a greater number of women in the council in the next term.”​

We can’t import agriculture and livestock husbandry

Speaking at the Stars of Agriculture award ceremony organized by the Edirne Commodity Exchange, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the need for agriculture and its products is increasing each day globally.​

Islamic countries must increase income justice and trade

Speaking at the 31st İSEDAK Meeting also attended by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ,TOBB President and Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Vice President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The wealthiest member of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation is 630 times richer in terms of national income per capita than its poorest member. This should deeply disturb all of us. We are from a culture which would not sleep easy when their neighbors went hungry.” Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that it is only possible to for Islamic countries to increase prosperity and decrease this unjust income disparity by increasing trade between Islamic countries.​

“As in trade, there is abundant opportunity for bilateral investment with Iran”

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that there is an abundance of opportunity for bilateral direct investments with Iran just like bilateral trade opportunities, “TOBB and the Iranian chambers should work more closely. We are ready to take on endeavors to bring Turkey and Iran closer.”​

“A properly functioning judicial system engenders trust in the people”

In his speech at the Judiciary and Business Community Symposium in İstanbul, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that their desire as the Turkish private sector is the effective running of the judicial system, “A properly functioning judicial system engenders trust in the people. If people have confidence in individuals and institutions, economy will function better and more justly. In a country lacking confidence in these, no matter what you do, neither growth nor stability will be permanent.”​
