Following the opening remarks, Council Vice Chair Özlem Güçlüer presented an assessment of the automotive industry’s performance in the first quarter of 2026.
Later in the meeting, discussions focused on the content and next steps regarding the “EU Industrial Acceleration Bill.” As part of this agenda item, briefings were provided by representatives from the TOBB Brussels Office, the Ministry of Trade’s Directorate General for International Agreements and the European Union, and the Automotive Industry Association (OSD).
The meeting also included an assessment of the current status of the implementation of the Domestic Product Regulation. Regarding this matter, briefings were provided by Mehmet Çağatay Taşkın, Director General of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and Hasan Semiz, Director of the Automotive Industry Department at the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
In the final segment of the meeting, recent developments regarding the requirement to install vehicle tracking and camera systems, video recording devices, and emergency buttons were discussed. As part of this agenda item, Burak Buluç, Director of Vehicle Projects and Coordination at the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), provided information to the participants.
