TOBB Turkey Durable Goods Council convened in Istanbul

TOBB Turkey Durable Goods Council held its first meeting of 2018, chaired by Council Chair Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu, at the TOBB Istanbul Service building, with the participation of council members and the Ministry of Economy EU Deputy General Manager Mehmet Tan, Department Chief İbrahim Şener and foreign trade experts.​

During the meeting, Ministry of Economy provided updates and informative presentations about the work carried out regarding Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Customs Union (CU) and BREXIT. The share of FTAs in Turkey’s foreign trade with regards to the Customs Union was pointed out as well as reasons for establishing FTAs.

Vertical Agreements Guide was also discussed during the meeting. The Environmental Working Committee's 2017 annual report was shared. As a part of this, the negotiations with the ministries on the legislation including the work areas of the commission and the results, prepared opinion drafts and other works were briefly mentioned.
