TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu drew attention to the importance of the project and said, “There are entrepreneurs seeing the right opportunities all over Anatolia. This competition will be an important opportunity for our rapidly growing SMEs.”
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) is conducting the second “Turkey 100” competition in partnership with the AllWord Network based in the USA and TEPAV. Among the applicants, those which increased their sales figures the fastest between 2011 and 2013 will be considered and 100 will be chosen.
The “Turkey 100” competition aims to increase visibility of successful companies on an international level and strengthen their connection to the global economy. Companies entering the listing will be able to attend the Harvard Entrepreneurship Summit held annually at the Harvard University.
They will also meet with the winners of Allworld Network’s competitions similar to “Turkey 100” from all over the world. The success stories of these 100 companies will also provide inspiration to younger generations in Turkey, motivating them towards enterprise.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in regards to the event stated that the development of entrepreneurship is one of TOBB’s priorities. Stating his conviction that increasing entrepreneur numbers will increase Turkey’s growth, Hisarcıklıoğlu went on, “Entrepreneurship is key in becoming one of the top ten economies in the world by 2023
There are thousands of entrepreneurs seeing the right opportunities all over Anatolia, innovating and providing employment. These entrepreneurs are our greatest treasure. Our entrepreneurs will be introduced to the world via the Turkey 100 Project, led by TOBB in partnership with TEPAV and the AllWorld Network.”

Applications to the Turkey 100 competition can be made until December 1st, 2014. Conditions for applying are:
“Companies applying to the Turkey 100 must have been active for at least 3 years and 500,000$US turnover as of 2013 while also having increased turnover by 10% between 2011 and 2013.
Must be an independent, private or publicly traded, for-profit firm, partnership or personal company.
Company headquarters must be located in Turkey. The company can have been incorporated elsewhere. Branches of a foreign company cannot enter.
The company can have domestic or foreign investors, however, 51% or more of its shares cannot belong to a publicly traded company or the government of any country.
The company must not be a non-profit, holding, franchise, automotive dealership, bank or public service company.
Independent legal entities owned by holdings can apply. Applications can be made free of charge through the turkiye100.tobb.org.tr website.
