In the meeting held at the Bogoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the TOBB delegation demanded the completion of the approval process of the Agreement on the Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments, which is expected to be ratified with the expectation of the completion of the free trade agreement between Türkiye and Colombia as soon as possible.

In addition, the sector's request regarding the safeguard measure applied by the Colombian Government on rebar imports from Türkiye was conveyed and information about the process was requested.

The Colombian delegation, referring to the 2015 Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education between the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Colombia, emphasized the demand for cooperation in science and technology, especially in biotechnology.

The meeting was attended by Turkish Ambassador to Colombia Beste Pehlivan Sun, TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken, President of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, President of Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member of the General Council of the World Federation of Chambers İzzet Volkan, Bogota Commercial Counsellor Muhammet Hartavi, TOBB Deputy Secretary General Sarp Kalkan, Head of EU and Foreign Relations Department Mustafa Bayburtlu and Assistant Specialist Simay Tunçkılıç.
