Construction pattern-makers enter exam in Fatsa

MEYBEM Vocational Proficiency and Certification Center, supported by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), held an Vocational Proficiency Exam for construction pattern-makers in Fatsa.​

The two-stage exam was comprised of a written stage and interview followed by practical applications at an active construction site.

MEYBEM representatives stated that those certified as a part of TOBB’s examination and certification programs would receive vocational proficiency certificates and that those without certification would not be able to find employment.

Fatsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FATSO) Secretary General Hamdi Karamustafa stated that the chamber’s role is to coordinate the exams in the province, bringing workers and employers together. He stated that impartial observers would grade the exam.

FATSO and MEYBEM are aiming to ensure that there are no uncertified construction workers left in FATSA with future programs, the training will shift to workshops during winter through a possible protocol with Fatsa Gazi High School and Technical Anatolia High School.

In addition to construction pattern-makers there will be exams for barbenders, wallers, ceramic tile-layers, plasterers, heat isolation workers and workers in similar sectors.
