Visit by Medical Assembly to Mr. Ali Babacan

TOBB Medical Assembly discussed sectoral issues and expectations by visiting Mr. Ali Babacan, State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, under presidency of Özgür İncekara, President of the Assembly. Metin Demir, Vice President of the Medical Assembly has also involved in this visit. ​ ​

Mesut Toprak, elected for the presidency of TOBB Tourism Assembly

The Board of Turkey Tourism Assembly is elected.  Mesut Toprak, (the president of  Atik Paşa Turizm A.Ş., Four Seasons Hotel) is elected as president and Hasan Arat (CEO of Capital Partners Gayrimenkul Geliştirme Yatırım A.Ş.),   Timur Bayındır (Presidents of Union of Touristic Hotelkeepers, Managers, Investor), Koray Yetik (Secretary the General of Turkish Tourism Investors), İbrahim Birkan (General Manager of Turser Turizm Servis ve Ticaret A.Ş.),  Cemil Uğurlu (President of Belek Tourism Investors Union), Mustafa Keten (Vice President of Akfen Holding A.Ş.) and Ali Akkanat (President of Akkanat Holding) are elected as vice presidents.​ ​

BaÅŸaran Ulusoy, elected for the presidency again

Turkish Travel Agencies and Tourist Guides Assembly, started the new term with the election of the Assembly board. Başaran Ulusoy (President of Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) is elected as president and Nail Çimen (Kervan Turizm Seyahat Ltd. Şti.),  Şerif Yenen (president of Federation of Turkish Tourist Guide Associations) and Üstün (Özbey General Manager of SETUR) are eleceted as vice presidents.​ ​

The agenda of Turkish Transportation and Logistics Assembly was the report prepared by the Subcommittee of the Assembly and edited by Prof. Dr. Füsun Ülengin, advisor of the Assembly. This study that includes short, medium and long term problems/solutions has been made to define the priorities of Turkish Transportation and Logistics Assembly. ​ ​

Turkish Glass and Glass products Industry Assembly gathered at TOBB Plaza in Ä°stanbul, making comments about sector, it addressed potential opportunities and disadvantages for 2011.

​Sector representatives who expressed that negative effects of the crisis were partially prevented by taking serious actions regarding energy consumption in 2010, pointed that sectoral growth has reached to nearly 20% by compensating costs. ​

Competition conditions in retail sector are being sought

TOBB Turkish Turkish Retail Trade Assembly gathered under the presidency of Mehmet Nane and reviewed conditions of competition in the sector. Tarkan Erdoğan, Head Expert from Competition Authority who participated to meeting as a guest, stated that within the framework of the decision taken by Competition Authority, an investigation has begun on conditions of competition in retail sector. ​ ​

Export expectation in chemicals sector is 12 billion dollars

​TOBB Turkish Chemicals Industry Assembly convened under the chairmanship of Timur Erk. At the meeting, chemicals industry’s export which accounts for 10 percent of Turkey’s total exports was pointed out to have surpassed 10 billion dollars for the first 10 months of 2010 which is expected to reach 12 billion dollars by the end of 2010.  ​ ​

Jewellery Sector demand immidiate solution for Private Consumption Tax (OTV)

TOBB Jewellery Industry Assembly gathered in order to settle roadmap for 2011. During the meeting in particular stock release, re-assessment, production in alternative months, outage application in export and training activities, many issues are addressed, regarding the sector and it is agreed that one of the most important issue is Special Consumption Tax (OTV). Representatives of the sector demanded either special consumption tax should be ruled out or its ratio should be decreased. ​ ​
