Mayor of Tiran capital of Albania, Erion Veliaj paid visit to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office within the trip he made to Ankara for attending World’s Smart Cities Summit.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has attended the funeral prayer for late İbrahim Çağlar TOBB Vice President and President of İstanbul Chamber of Commerce, at Marmara University Faculty of Theology Implementation Mosque. ​

Issuing a letter of condolences for the decease of İbrahim Çağlar Vice President of The Union of Chamber and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and also President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he was deeply sorry for the decease of Çağlar. “Our community has lost one its very significant figure. We are in deep sorrow. My brother İbrahim Çağlar’s services to the chamber and commodity exchanges and also his contribution to the economy as a businessman shall never be forgotten.”​

Assessing growth figures, The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that Turkish entrepreneurs have proven their capability against all negativity brought to their way, extraneous economic and political obstacles. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended Turkey-EU High-Level Economic Dialogue (YDED) meeting held on 8th December 2017 in Brussels. Meeting was held under the co-presidency of Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek on behalf Turkey and European Commission Deputy President Jirki Katainen on behalf of EU. ​

Member of Turkey-EU Joint Advisory Committee Turkey wing issued a joint press statement regarding USA’s decision on Kudus. Reading out the joint press statement TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that such attitude which offends against obligatory resolutions by United Nations for status of Kudus and is also a clear violation of international law and diplomacy and added “Those who wants to take this step should be very well aware of that this decision does not provide any benefit for anybody. Kudus is not abandoned”.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has responded to the USA’s decision taken for Kudus. Within his statement, Hisarcıklıoğlu gave coverage to following remarks: ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) General Assembly which took place in Belgrade. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu speaking at TOBB Commodity Exchanges Council Meeting said that the reason for currently experienced agricultural difficulties were not seasonal or temporary but structural. Hisarcıklıoğlu said “The entire system needs to be re-considered with an integrated approach. We must bring a new perspective in to agricultural sector, agricultural supports and trade”.​
