TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his letter of condolence in regards to the passing of the famous artist Adnan Şenses, “Mr. Şenses has contributed great to Turkish music, winning the hearts of many and was one of our most prized artists. We are deeply saddened by his passing.”​

We need agricultural reforms

Speaking at the TOBB Commodity Exchanges Council Meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey is in need of agricultural reforms, stressing the need to improve productivity in agriculture. Stating that Turkey needs to increase its agricultural production to 150 billion USD and its exports to 40 billion USD, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “When you consider that our goal for 2023 is an exports volume of 500 billion USD, 11.5% of our exports will need to be conducted by the agriculture sector. We believe that it can do this. Hopefully, we will bring our agricultural sector and economy to another level in 2023.”​

Fifteen agreements signed with Hungary

Turkey and Hungary have signed fifteen agreements between them. The signature ceremony which took place at the Prime Ministry Headquarters was attended by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

Strategic partnership will increase the weight behind Turkey and Mexico in the global order

The Turkish-Mexican Business Council Meeting took place in İstanbul hosted by TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and attended by the Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergün and the businessmen from the two countries. Pointing out the importance of the Strategic Partnership in the 21st Century agreement signed by the leaders of the two countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that this key partnership would increase the weight behind Turkey and Mexico in the global order.​

Hisarcıklıoğlu requested a solution for passage fees from the Hungarian Prime Minister Orban

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the delegation accompanying him attended a dinner with the representatives of the Turkish business community hosted by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Hungary is instrumental in the development and exports of the Turkish industry and went on to report that Turkey was subject to different fees. Hisarcıklıoğlu requested Orban’s support in solving this matter. Orban said, “I can promise to provide you with the best conditions.”​

"Our hearts ache with the loss of our soldiers martyred in the helicopter crash"

Publishing a message in regards to the helicopter crash which resulted in the martyring of 4 of our soldiers in Gölbaşı, Ankara, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "The news from Gölbaşı have wounded the heart of our nation. Our martyred heroes will live on in our hearts."​

We must continue with structural reforms

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that Turkey will become one of the ten largest economies in the world in 2023, and said, “In order to achieve this we must continue with structural reforms.”​
