​Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the Uppsala Governor Egardt in Sweden

​ As a part of his Sweden program, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited his former EUROCHAMBRES (The European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry) colleague, the Governor of Uppsala, Peter Egardt at his office. ​

​A cooperation agreement is signed with Stockholm University

​ Stockholm University Turkey Studies Institute was opened with a ceremony honored by the President Abdullah Gül and His Majesty Carl XVI. Gustaf, King of Sweden. The ceremony was also attended by M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, Prof. Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Vice-president of Stockholm University, Ahmed Davutoğlu, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, the Swedish Foreign Minister, Prof. Levin, Director of Turkey Studies Institute, and Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, Vice-president of TOBB ETÜ. ​

​“The national anthem is the liberation epic of a nation that will never give up its independence"

​ M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, released a message yesterday due to the 92nd Anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem and the Remembrance Day of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and said that the National Anthem was the epic of a true liberation war describing the struggle of a nation for life and liberation that would set an example to all oppressed nations. ​

​"Our women athletes will encourage young girls towards sports"

​ TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated the Vakıfbank Sports Club Women's Volleyball Team for their victory against Rabita Baku representing Azerbaijan in the finals match of the European Volleyball Confederation (Confédération Européenne de Volleyball - CEV) Women's Championship League. ​

​"We are lessened by the passing of Metin Serezli"

​ TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu published a message offering his condolences for the passing of the theatre artist, Metin Serezli. Stating that Serezli has been an important value for Turkish theatre and cinema, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "His loss has greatly saddened the art community and our nation." ​

​“The target in foreign economic relations is 1 trillion dollars to enter the 10s Club"

​ M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), ''The target in foreign economic relations is one trillion dollars to enter the 10s club. What is the formula for this one-trillion target then? The formula is coordination. Cooperation, collaboration, union of forces. The British has a proverb, “trade follows the flag”. ​

​Turkish private sector's Sweden landing

​TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with a private sector delegation of over a 100 businessmen, will accompany President Gül during his Sweden visit. The businessmen will be attending many meetings including the Turkish - Swedish Business Forum in order to increase trade between the two countries. ​

  Publishing a message in regards to the March 8th World Women’s Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that women, who make the world better and more beautiful for everyone, are also the most important force behind the economy and production. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The power of women is an indicator of our civilization. Women who nurture and raise us are the real partners of the business world just as they are directors of life. If we wish to achieve prosperity quickly, we must increase the number of our women entrepreneurs.” ​

​Hisarcıklıoğlu: “Acceptance of the FTA and lifting visas has removed obstacles with Jordan”

​ Answer questions from the Jordan Royal TV, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed that the acceptance of the free trade agreement (FTA) and lifting of visas has removed significant obstacles to the trade between the two countries and stated that trade will speed up once Syria attains stability. ​

​“We aim to increase our trade with Jordan to 2 billion USD as soon as possible"

​ King Abdullah II of Jordan, in Turkey on the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül, attended the Turkey-Jordan Economic Cooperation Meeting organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). Accompanying King Abdullah during the meeting hosted by TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu was the Minister of the Treasury, Mehmet Şimşek. ​
