TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met Croatian Chamber of Economy Chairman Luka Burilovic. The meeting which took place at the TOBB İstanbul Headquarters, Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Burilovic on his new appointment. ​

USA’s Ambassador to Ankara, Francis Ricciardone visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu to bid him farewell as his term in Turkey is coming to an end.​

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Mahmut Abbas. Afterwards, Economy Minister Cevat Naci and Hisarcıklıoğlu signed the master plans for the organized industry zone to be built.​

Attending various meetings in Palestine, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the Palestine Chambers Federation Chairman Ahmet Hashim Zugayir to extend him his well wishes.​

The second half of the 10 million USD expropriations cost for the organized industry zone to be built in Jenin by TOBB as a gift to the Palestinian people, which will directly provide employment for 6,000 people was turned over to beneficiaries during a ceremony. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in regards to the Organized Industry Zone Project to be built in Palestine, “The dream we’ve chased for years is becoming a reality.”​

In line with the Anadolu Agency’s (AA) centennial anniversary goals and work to strengthen its international operations, the AA Jerusalem Office was opened with a ceremony attended by TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu celebrated the “Insurance Week”, held every year at the end of May to raise awareness to insurance throughout Turkey via various events and stated that insurance shares the risk, not income.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey held its 70th General Assembly. Observing a moment of silence in regards to the disaster which took place in Soma, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his speech at the General Assembly that the private sector is hopeful for the future and that a new model for growth as well as new structural reforms are necessary.​

Drawing attention to the calamitous events taking place in Soma at the 12th Industry Congress held by the İstanbul Chamber of Industry, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu declared that TOBB has launched an aid campaign for the families of the martyred miners with a donation 5 million TL. Hisarcıklıoğlu urged the business community to take part in this campaign.​

A visit to Anıtkabir was made lead by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu by the TOBB Board, Councils, Presidents of various Chambers and Exchanges as well as delegates, on occasion of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey’s (TOBB) 70th Financial General Assembly, the delegation also stood in tribute in the presence of the Forefather.​
