Australian Ambassador James Larsen visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his May 19th Youth and Sports Day statement, said, “This year, we greet May 19th together as a nation encompassed in the grief of the disaster in Soma. I believe that the spirit of unity and solidarity, which grows each year with May 19th, will aid in calming our hearts beset by fiery anguish.”​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu released a statement in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the oppression, genocide and the largest exile in history, inflicted upon the Circassian people, which came on the tails of the end of the Circassian – Russian wars on May 21st 1864.​

Speaking at the 12th Industry Congress organized by the İstanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “While the medium tech products are on the increase in our industrial goods exports, the ratio of advanced tech goods are unable to make any headway,” stating that it is clear that the industry is in need of structural transformation.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with Manisa chamber and exchange presidents, went to the mine in Soma where the disaster occurred and assessed the situation.​

Releasing a press statement in regards to the disaster which took place in a coal mine in the Soma county of Manisa, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that it is impossible to express the anguish felt, “This disaster has struck at the hearts of everyone.​

Agricultural producers suffering from the frost have called for aid. Ordu and Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry have requested aid for the region’s nut producers who have been dealt a severe blow due to damage to their produce from snow and frost, relaying a report on the matter to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Also, Malatya Commodity Exchange has applied to TOBB in order to bring resolution to the plight of the peach producers suffering due to frost.​

Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) Chairman Kakha Baindurashvili, accompanied by his wife, visited TOBB. Exchanging views with TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Baindurashvili stated that they put great importance on bilateral relations. Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that there is opportunity to form a partnership in regards to arbitration and going on to point out that the modernization of customs gates will increase trade.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening of the Afyonkarahisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (ATSO) new service building. The opening was conducted by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu presented former TOBB Board Members İlhan Parseker, Harun Karacan, Mustafa Yardımcı, Arif Parmaksız, Mehmet Kaya, Uğur Kaleli and Bülent Karakuş with plaques to commemorate their services.​
