Target in Tourism is to increase the Quality before Quantity

Turkish Toursim Assembly visited Ertuğrul Günay, Minister of Culture and Tourism within the presidency of the assembly president Mesut Toprak and with the contribution of Halim Mete, member of Board of Directors of TOBB.
Minister Günay stated that, tourism in Turkey is carried out within high quality and environment respects, leading to an increase in number of tourists from 28.5 to expected 30 million in one year. Günay said, nearly 10 million of the tourists visit for sea tourism, and added “we should direct the tourist to Anatolia”. Günay said Target in Tourism is to increase the Quality before Quantity.
“The value of tourism increases as much as culture is involved in it, the leading sector in increasing life quality is the toursim sector” Günay stated and gave the information that a master plan on thermal tourism is being prepared.
7th place in torusim
Günay said Turkey’s tourism has made a significant progress compared to 5-6 years prior, and the target set up in 2010 vision as putting Turkey in the first ten in the world tourism has been reached and Turkey has risen to the 7th place in the world.
Dedicating this success to the private sector for their effort, vision and risk taking approach, Günay said that as the Ministry, they are working on eliminating the obstacles that investors are facing.
Günay also stated that he is pleased that a tourism assembly is founded within TOBB, and he has a strong belief that the assembly will create successful studies to contribute to the tourism sector.
