Speaking at the ceremony, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the importance of Çıldır-Aktaş Customs Gate for Kars and Ardahan and said, “This place is not just a trade route, right next to you is a population of 18 million and they have needs.

Find out what they import and figure out what you can produce yourself to make a profit by selling it to them. We now have a great opportunity to provide services to the east of Turkey.”

Drawing attention to the fact that private banks aren’t very established in Kars and Ardahan, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “80% of the credit drawn is from state banks. In order to have this region develop and fulfill its capital needs, banks need to turn to this region more.”

Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı stated that Turkey is a very beautiful and very large country and drew attention to the country’s strategic importance.

Hisarcıklıoğlu and Minister Yazıcı visited the Ardahan Governor Seyfettin Azizoğlu and Ardahan Municipality Director Faruk Köksoy following their visit to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They also toured the Provincial Congress Center.
