Berkin Elvan’s loss has wounded all of our hearts

Expressing his grief in losing the 15 year old Berkin Elvan, who lost struggle for life after 269 days, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Every child of this country is our child. Berkin’s loss has wounded all of our hearts. May Allah never make us experience such grief again.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his press release:
“Struggling for life for 269 days following a deplorable incident, the loss of our 15 year old child, Berkin Elvan, has caused great sadness in our nation.
To live is the most basic and sacred right of every individual who has come into existence on this earth through the will of the Creator. That an innocent child has been deprived of this right in such an unfortunate manner would break the heart of any conscientious person.
If we stand as one and united, then every child is our child; every life is as sacred as our own. On behalf of the Turkish business world, we share this great grief and present our condolences to Berkin’s family, loved ones and the all of our nation and pray for the grace of Allah upon him.”
