Established as a part of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vocational Examination and Certification Center (MESEM) and the ASO 1st OIZ Vocational Examination and Certification Commercial Enterprise (METES), have received authorization to issue Vocational Proficiency Certificates.
In his statement on the matter, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The share of chambers in vocational training in Germany is 67%, this should be our goal as well. Vocational training should not be a job for someone else but that of the chamber which is the primary duty of chambers which are expected to supply personnel with the necessary qualities its members need. Our chambers must stand at the center of this process. Examination and certification are the indispensables of vocational training.”
Stating that the first chamber to receive authorization to conduct exams and issue Vocational Proficiency Certificates is ATSO while ASO 1st Organized Industry Zone is the first OIZ, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “ATSO and ASO have pioneered this for us. They are an example to other chambers with large numbers of members. I congratulate and thank ATSO and ASO 1st OIZ for being the first to provide this service to its members.”
- What is the Vocational Proficiency Certificate?
The Vocational Proficiency Certificate is a document proving an employee’s vocational proficiency with international validity. Those with a certificate of level 4 or higher can be assigned by the National Education Ministry to teach at schools.
Employers employing personnel with the desired qualities and certified as such are exempt from insurance premiums for a period of time ranging between 12 and 48 months. This sum is paid from the Unemployment Insurance fund.
Institutions wishing to receive examination and certification authorization from the Vocational Proficiency Institution must attain an ISA 17024 Personnel Documentation Accreditation from the Turkey Accreditation Institute.
