Tajikistan PM Rasulzoda also expressed interest in the subject. Stating that they would like to host a delegation in their country to this end, Rasulzoda said that he would be reviewing the customs gate modernization project.
PM Rasulzoda called for investments in Tajikistan and said, “Investors and those bringing in technology will be exempt from taxation.”
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Tajikistan Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda who was in Ankara for the inauguration ceremony of the 12th President of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and engaged in talks to increase bilateral business relations.
Also present during the meeting were Konya Representative Mustafa Kabakçı and Turk – Tajik Business Council President Mahmut Er.
In his speech TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that despite strong diplomatic ties between the two countries, economic relations are below the desired level.
Speaking on the power of the Turkish entrepreneur with the visiting PM, Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the potential in the fields of construction materials and construction. Hisarcıklıoğlu also reported that Turkey’s exports most of its goods to the European Union, stating that this speaks to the quality of the goods.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, also the Vice President of ICCIA, stated that they awaiting Tajikistan to sign the Trade Preferential System among the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (TPS – OIC). Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated that they are waiting for Tajikistan’s signing of the ECOTA.
Touching on the issue of flight permits, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that these need to be addressed in order to have more businessmen traveling bilaterally for business. Hisarcıklıoğlu also provided PM Rasulzoda with information in regards to the Silk Road Project.
Tajikistan Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda drew attention to the importance of cooperation between the two countries, stating that the 650 million USD trade volume between the two countries is insufficient. Stating that Tajikistan supports the energy industry, Rasulzoda pointed out the possibility of cooperation in the fields of road construction and construction materials as well as importing dried fruits to Turkey from Tajikistan.
Rasulzoda stressed need for a stronger private sector and investments.
Stating that there are many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, Rasulzoda expressed their desire to develop this potential and invited Turkish entrepreneurs to his country.
