M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, released a message yesterday due to the 92nd Anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem and the Remembrance Day of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and said that the National Anthem was the epic of a true liberation war describing the struggle of a nation for life and liberation that would set an example to all oppressed nations.

In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu communicated the following messages:

“We are proud of celebrating 92nd  anniversary of the adoption of our National Anthem.  The liberation of this land from the occupation of the enemies and the establishment of the republic are the greatest stories of success.   Our national poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy described this great epic most beautifully with his words and has always been remembered with love and respected by those who were the heroes of the epic and their children who brought this beautiful country to the present, and has been the pride of this country.

As the Union of the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, we, with a view to making this picture of pride permanent  prepared the book of Safahat, i.e. Complete Works of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and provided it to several people in every part of Turkey as a present.

We once again remember Mehmet Akif Ersoy with respect and gratitude as he was a great poet who was so modest that he did not include the National Anthem which he wrote with the words distilled from his feelings in his greatest work Safahat saying that "It is not my work, but the work of my nation".

It will be the last national anthem written on this land.  Like Mehmet Akif, our nation is loyal to that belief, and believes that Turkey will be a power country in the future.

With these emotions and thoughts, I would like to congratulate 92nd Anniversary of the adoption of the National Anthem, and Remembrance Day of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and extend my respects to our beloved nation.”
