Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated at Turkish-Russian Business Forum that the Turkish private sector wants to have stronger economic relations with Russia which reflects the economic potential of the two states. Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu mentioned that it is aimed to reach 100 billion dollars trade volume in 2015, and that trading and the banking infrastructure have to be prepared to meet this trade volume target. ​
TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech in Moscow that they are willing Turkish construction firms to take more active roles in the 2014 Soçi Winter Olympics and 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of lifting visa requirements before the tourism season. TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu underlined the problems experienced at the customs and stated the customs requirements must be eased to abolish the unbalanced trade between the two countries.

Before the Turkish-Russian Business Forum TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sergey Katırin agreed on deepening the cooperation between the two institutions. Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu suggested TOBB and Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the countries of Commonwealth of Independent States, North Africa and Middle East to have meetings together to reach this goal.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated Turkish- Russian relations has a very long history and our relations in economic, political, military and cultural fields are increasing to have stronger connections in the future. Prime Minister Erdoğan mentioned that the Russian-Turkish bilateral trade decreased in 2009 due to global economic crisis but increased to 26 billion dollars in 2010.
