At the meeting, H. E. Åkesson mentioned his two priorities as supporting the Turkish government in the EU accession process and increasing the economic and commercial ties between Turkey and Sweden. Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu also stressed the low commercial ties between the two countries and underlined the importance of vitalizing the activities of the DEIK/Turkish-Swedish Business Council. “There are 20.000 Turkish entrepreneurs in the Balkans for instance, we can develop our commercial ties in third countries as well” said Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu offered to invite the members of Turkish-Swedish Business Council and to host a business delegation from Sweden either in İstanbul or Ankara in order to raise awareness among the business communities of both countries. H. E. Akesson also mentioned that the visit of Minister of Trade of Sweden on 12-13 April 2011 will present an excellent opportunity to vitalize the activities of the DEIK/Turkish-Swedish Business Council.
