In the ceremony Hisarcıklıoğlu noted “We should award a medal to all businessmen because not only we employed about ten million people, we buy, we sell, we toll but also we get a beating.”
In the ceremony Hisarcıklıoğlu said that there is no difference between Turkish people and German, French and American people. Turkey is the sixteenth largest economy in the world and added:
“We are the fifty fourth rank in income per capita but we are eighty third rank in human development index. These information are not mine, they are world’s data. As a citizen in that country, I don’t want to live in the rank which is eighty third in human development index. There are no differences between me and German, French and American people. If my country is the sixteenth largest economy in the world, we should also be in the sixteenth rank for human development index. That situation is not appropriate for us, and this is our duty and responsibility. We should award a medal to all businessmen because we employed about ten million people, we buy, we sell, we toll but also we get a beating. We should chance this situation, at that time no one prevents Turkey’s development.”

“In the last thirty years we made a wonderful success story” and Hisarcıklıoğlu added that “Thirty years ago the economy of Turkey was in the rank of twenty seventh. Now what is the situation? Although there are lots of obstacles we are the sixteenth largest economy in the world. Who did it? We did. Now we want to run. To tell the truth we want to be world leaders. Because of this the shackles on our feet should be taken away. We don’t want money. We want to produce, sell and buy under the same conditions as our competitors produce, sell, and buy. At that time everyone see that we will be world leader.”

After those remarks Hisarcıklıoğlu gave the awards to record tax payers and exporters of Ordu for the 2008-2009 financial year.
