Speaking with the TOBB President and EUROCHAMBRES Vice President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, ICC President Gerard Worms said, “The performance of Turkey’s economy is very impressive.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the International Chamber of Commerce President Gerard Worms in Paris on June 29th, 2011. TOBB-ICC and EUROCHAMBRES-ICC relations were reviewed.
During the meeting Worms expressed that Turkey’s performance was very impressive and to Hisarcıklıoğlu, “You are a successful businessman. You have many international experiences such as TOBB President, Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Deputy President and EUROCHAMBRES Vice President. ICC should cooperate with you more.” Worms also invited Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu to the G20 Business World (G20 Business) Meeting in November.
Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Gerard Worms on his appointment to ICC Presidency and stated that as one of the earliest members of ICC, ICC-TOBB relations have always been of great import. Emphasizing that, as TOBB, they would continue to support ICC projects, Hisarcıklıoğlu invited ICC President Gerard Worms to Turkey.
- EUROCHAMBRES Presidency Council Meeting
After the meeting Hisarcıklıoğlu traveled to Brussels to attend the EUROCHAMBRES Presidency Council Meeting.
Speaking about the EUROCHAMBRES Presidency Council meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated, “We discussed two very important issues for the European business world during the Presidency Council meeting. Vocational training and Energy Efficiency. Ideas were exchanged on projects which will bring EUROCHAMBRES and national Chambers closer in the next term with the European Commission.”
EUROCHAMBRES, with members from 45 European countries, is comprised of the EUROCHAMBRES President and Vice Presidents. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Luxemburg, Poland, Britain and Turkey are represented in the Presidency Council.
