“Şefik Tokat’s name will live on in this meeting hall”

According to the TOBB Board of Directors’ decision, the 4th meeting hall in the TOBB Social Facilities will be named after the former TOBB Secretary General and Prime Ministry Advisor Şefik Tokat. Speaking at the ceremony TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke of Tokat’s contributions to the TOBB community and said, “Mr. Tokat’s name will live on in this meeting hall. I would like to thank my friends in the Board of Directors for making this decision.
Ceremony was attended by Tokat’s family, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Konya Grand National Assembly Representative Hüseyin Üzülmez, TOBB Board of Directors, TOBB Council Presidents and former TOBB Board Member and Erzurum Commodity Exchange President Hakkı Hınıslıoğlu as well his former colleagues and TOBB personnel.
- Tokat’s work was remembered
In his speech, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stated that Şefik Tokat has put in a lot of effort for the TOBB community, “Mr. Tokat has been an important name who served his country wherever he worked not just in the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. He has been especially beneficial to the community in troubled times for tradesmen, industrialists and exchanges. He has trained many people. He was a very disciplined and fatherly figure. He loved his team. He would look after his team. We remember him well. May Allah grant him heaven.”
TOBB Commodity Exchanges Council President and Istanbul Commodity Exchange former President Nejat Ekrem Basmacı and former TOBB Board Member and Erzurum Commodity Exchange President Hakkı Hınısoğlu spoke with beneficence of Tokat.
Speaking on behalf of the Tokat family, his nephew Mustafa Ağuş thanked the TOBB Board of Directors for their decision.
