In addition to the tax and exports record holders, contributors and participants of the Expert Vocation Training Centers (UMEM) Ability’10 Project were awarded in Misland, Elazığ.

Attending the awards ceremony were TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Religious Affairs President Mehmet Görmez, Elazığ Governor Muammer Erol, TOBB Board Member Faik Yavuz, Elazığ Commodity Exchange President Mehmeet Ali Dumandağ, Elazığ Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ali Şekerdağ, Elazığ Municipality President Süleyman Selmanoğlu, All Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TÜMSİAD) President Hasan Sert and many guests.

Speaking at the award ceremony, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu explained how great a chance Ability’10 employment project presented to employers and the unemployed, “We give our unemployed 3 months of training followed by 3 months of internship. They are given an allowance of 15 TL per day as well as having their insurance paid. At the end of the process they are employed. The employer is thus supplied with the trained and qualified workers needed.  There important advantages regarding the upkeep of the workers as well. Ford is employing a thousand workers this way have lowered their costs by 20%. Please be aware of these opportunities and employ personnel.”

- Expectation of a new Constitution

Pointing out that Turkey has broken a record with 11% growth in the first quarter, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Turkey must produce intermediate goods in order to eliminate current foreign deficit. Touching on the expectation of a new Constitution, Hisarcıklıoğlu went on, “This 11% growth was achieved while we are ranked 65th for ease of doing business in the world. We only wish to compete on equal terms.”

With the New Constitution, Political Parties and Election Law must also change, spoke Hisarcıklıoğlu, the bond between the elected representatives and the public must be strengthened. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The elected representatives must be accountable to the public. Everybody votes for the leader. We must be able to choose the representatives for democracy of a higher quality.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the numbers of entrepreneurs must be increased in order to achieve sustainable growth and eliminate unemployment.

- Elazığ economy

Assessing Elazığ economy, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that when the Mayor, Municipality President, Assembly Members and Chamber Presidents work in unison success is inevitable in a province. Hisarcıklıoğlu touched on the results of the “Got an Idea?” competition on NTV, where the first and fourth places were won by residents of Elazığ, he said that this showed the intelligence of the people of Elazığ. TOBB President said, “Elazığ weather is hard. Its water is hard. Its men are hard but also brave. Also intelligent.”
