Competition conditions in retail sector are being sought
TOBB Turkish Turkish Retail Trade Assembly gathered under the presidency of Mehmet Nane and reviewed conditions of competition in the sector. Tarkan Erdoğan, Head Expert from Competition Authority who participated to meeting as a guest, stated that within the framework of the decision taken by Competition Authority, an investigation has begun on conditions of competition in retail sector.

Export expectation in chemicals sector is 12 billion dollars
TOBB Turkish Chemicals Industry Assembly convened under the chairmanship of Timur Erk. At the meeting, chemicals industry’s export which accounts for 10 percent of Turkey’s total exports was pointed out to have surpassed 10 billion dollars for the first 10 months of 2010 which is expected to reach 12 billion dollars by the end of 2010.

Jewellery Sector demand immidiate solution for Private Consumption Tax (OTV)
TOBB Jewellery Industry Assembly gathered in order to settle roadmap for 2011. During the meeting in particular stock release, re-assessment, production in alternative months, outage application in export and training activities, many issues are addressed, regarding the sector and it is agreed that one of the most important issue is Special Consumption Tax (OTV). Representatives of the sector demanded either special consumption tax should be ruled out or its ratio should be decreased.

Joint Declaration of the Fifth Meeting of the Istanbul Forum for Economic Cooperation
Istanbul Forum for Economic Cooperation between Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan is a trilateral dialogue mechanism established by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Afghanistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in 26 October 2007 with the objective of promoting business to business contributions to the confidence building process in the region.

Civil Aviation İndustry needs qualified human resource
Turkish civil aviation assembly held its meeting in İstanbul TOBB building, discussed the problems of sector and solutions. The President of Turkish Civil Aviation assembly’s Şahabettin Bolukçu stated that in order to develop amateur and sportive aviation, amateur aviation Federation and Turkish Aeronautical Association need to have collaboration. General Manager of Turkish Aeronautical Association Necdet Şendil also indicated that aviation industry needs qualified human resource. He added that existing legislation should convert to support of flight schools.

New Security Requirements in International Road Transport Sector
IRU TIR EPD, which is developed by International Road Transport Union (IRU), has been updated to cover security requirements and to lodge Electronic Entry/Exit Summary Declarations and will be operational as of today (20th December 2010). IRU TIR EPD is operational in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
