Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Vice President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, met with Abdullah Kamil, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA), which boasts 57 countries as members, and Secretary General Yousef Hassan Khalawi via video conference.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 17th Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) chaired by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. He attended the Foreign Ministers' Meeting. Giving the results of the 1st ACD Chambers of Commerce and Industry Conference held the previous day, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that they decided to come together on thematic issues and said that they wanted e-commerce to become widespread in Asia.​

“We will not abandon our SMEs during the production of new technologies, we will direct them to take advantage of all the possibilities of our government,” M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), said at the “Domestic Production in Technology and the Power of SMEs” meeting organized online in TOBB and Vodafone cooperation. Hisarcıklıoğlu participated in the “Domestic Production and Power of SMEs in Technology” meeting organized online in TOBB and Vodafone cooperation. ​

Speaking at the 1st Asian Cooperation Dialogue Member Countries Chambers of Commerce and Industry Conference, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), stated that they defend open and fair trade in the rule-based global system and said, “Turkey connects Asia and Europe and is a bridge between East and West. Our country wants to further develop its relations with Asia in many dimensions,” he said.​

TOBB will organize the Digitalization Virtual Fair on January 26-27, 2021 in order to inform SMEs about the developments in the field of digitalization which has become more important with the pandemic. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said they want to make it easier for entrepreneurs to adapt to the new digitalized world. At the virtual fair, where participation will be free, booth owners can be contacted in writing, voice and video.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the Board of Trustees and Rectors of the Universities established by the chamber and commodity exchange community (TOBB ETU, Istanbul Commerce University, Izmir University of Economics, KTO Karatay University, Piri Reis University).​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu participated in the introductory meeting of the 'Clean Business Project' developed by TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council with the support of the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of National Education and OPET via video conference.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitçi, Nevşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Arif Parmaksız and Kayseri Commodity Exchange President Recep Bağlı paid a condolence visit to Kayseri Chamber of Commerce President Ömer Gülsoy, who lost his father Hacı Mehmet Gülsoy yesterday. ​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the high loan interest rates imposed by banks recently have become one of the most important obstacles to production and investment, adding, “Banks are hindering growth, not supporting it, by increasing loan interests well above the increase in their costs.”​

The Presidential Council of the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), chaired by M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), was convened via video conference.​
