TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk stated that the education and higher education sectors are of great importance for the development of our young people and our country, and shared his message with the Members that they always support the sector as TOBB in the studies to be carried out and in solving the problems.

In the meeting, demands for the reorganization of the Higher Education Law were discussed and what can be done in the matters that hinder the sector. Evaluating the need for the separation of Foundation Universities and Private Enterprise Universities as legislation, which has been mentioned frequently recently, the representatives of the sector emphasized that our country is ready for such a change in terms of the conditions in which it is located.

The better education in a country, the better the development, the council members said, adding that students and faculty and universities are meaningful regardless of state-foundation universities.

Addressing the issue of university entrance threshold scores, the members stated that YÖK should be the one that sets and supervises the rules, stated that the practices that cause unfair competition should be prevented and emphasized the necessary studies to increase awareness of foundation universities.

YÖK Deputy Chairman Safa Kapıoğlu, who attended the meeting by video conference, expressed her satisfaction to be with the sector and stated that they are all valuable for the country, regardless of the state-foundation university distinction, and said that they will always work with the sector to improve the protection of these values.
