TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the city needs to come together in order to form a shared opinion and said, “I came here in 2002. There is a 100% difference in Bitlis between 2002 and 2012.”

Reminding that they authorized K1 certification on the request of the Bitlis TSO President Davut Tezcan, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, as Bitlis is situated in an earthquake and disaster zone, they are qualified to benefit from KOSGEB’s zero interest credit options. Speaking about the opportunities provided by TOBB to the business world, Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding Credit Guarantee Fund and ABİGEM services.

- Agriculture and livestock

Stating that agriculture and livestock will be the money makers in the coming century, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have come to the point where these subsistence professions are becoming money makers.”

Assessing the incentives package, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have nothing more to ask from the government. They’ve done everything. Now we have to pool our resources and draw in investors. We must retell the investment opportunities we see in Bitlis everywhere we go. Those who come here won’t want to invest anywhere else. This needs to be seized upon.”

Bitlis TSO President Davut Tezcan stated that they’ve realized their dream of a university and touched on the matter of OIZ. Tezcan related that an Organized Industry Zone holds great importance in the development of the city.

Bitlis Governor Nurettin Yılmaz stated that they’ve prepared an area for the OIZ, presenting the possibility of constructing residences to offset infrastructure costs of the OIZ while Bitlis TSO President Davut Tezcan stated that it is impossible build residences in an OIZ zone and that unless an OIZ is built, the plot would be given back to agriculturalists.
