“We are undertaking significant projects to develop and normalize Afghanistan”

Attending the Afghanistan Workshop, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that Afghanistan is one of TOBB’s priorities in terms of policy, “We are undertaking significant projects to develop and normalize Afghanistan. The EastWest Institute, with its views in line with ours, is very important for us to this end.”
The Afghanistan Workshop organized by TEPAV and the EastWest Institute was held at the TOBB İstanbul Service Building.
Speaking at the meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked TEPAV and the EastWest Institute for organizing the workshop, expressing his excitement for the Abu Dhabi process and emphasized the importance of Afghanistan and its priority for TOBB’s policy decisions.
Stating that individual prosperity and stability for any one country by itself is unsustainable, Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed that the only sustainable path to prosperity and stability is as a region.
Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that the Afghan people had wholly embraced democracy with the elections back in June and congratulated Ashraf Ghani on being elected president.
