Trade and TIR Department is the main service unit which carries out works assumed by TOBB on the area of  international logistics, transports, customs,  international trade and  supply chain management.
 
Some of the major duties arising from the various international conventions and national legislation are  operation of TIR and ATA systems in the country, road transport permit authorizations, K type licences (inland transport), distribution of digital tachograph cards and  in respect of the GS1 services implement and spread GS1 System in Turkey as representative of GS1 organization, enabling subscription of companies to GS1 system (allocating GS1 prefixes to subscriber companies that are used in uniquely identifying trade items, locations, assets, etc.)
 
On the other hand, basic principle of the department is to monitor global changes and developments and put them into the service of Turkish private sector.
