Born in 1954 in Mersin, M. Cihat LOKMANOĞLU completed his secondary education and high school 1st and 2nd grades at Tarsus American College and his high school 3rd grade education at Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California.
After graduating from Cornell University (USA) in 1976 (Civil Engineer), he received his master's degree from the same university in 1977 and became a "Civil Engineer".
LOKMANOĞLU, who served as a member of the Board of Directors of Mersin Steamship Owners and Agents Association between 1986-1990, has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors since March/1989, when Mersin Chamber of Shipping was established, TOBB Delegate and has also served as a member of TOBB High Coordination Board and TOBB Arbitration Court. Following the 2018 elections, he continues to take an active role within TOBB as a Board Member and Co-Chairman of the Turkish Side of the Turkey TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum.
Mr. Lokmanoğlu served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mersin Free Zone Operator AŞ (MESBAŞ) between 2000-2018.
LOKMANOĞLU, who is engaged in commercial activities in ship agency and cold air maritime transportation, is married and has two daughters. He is fluent in English.
