Kyrgyzstan President Atambayev was hosted by TOBB

Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev and Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz were hosted to a business dinner by the TOBB President, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Stating that the 21st Century would be the age of Asia, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Kyrgyzstan and Turkey have the opportunity to revitalize the historical Silk Road. It means prosperity if we are able to take advantage of this opportunity. It is also very important in terms of national security.”​ ​

Arabian Spring has changed the face of the Islam geography

Speaking at the closing of the Skill Development of Youth Employment Study Visit, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Arabian Spring has changed the face of the Islam geography, saying, “An unemployed brother in Tunisia lit the fuse for this process. Painful days have been experienced in reaching prosperity. The completion of the process will take time. But in the end, prosperity will be reached; the unemployed will find employment, the hungry will be fed. We see that the unemployment problem ignored by the world lies at the heart of the Arabian Spring.”​ ​

We want to compete on equal footing with our opponents

Speaking at the opening of the 3rd National Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Even though our natural resources are limited we act like we have unlimited energy and disregard energy conservation and therefore, lose. I’ll say it openly; we are using up our stores. The biggest complaint we get is the extremely high costs. We want to compete on equal footing with our opponents.”​ ​

Citizens have the say for the new constitution

Speaking at the opening of the citizen meetings organized by the Constitution Platform, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the new constitution should focus on the individual; oppose discrimination; enact the principle of equality in all fields of social life; grants individuals the opportunity to benefit from universal rights and freedoms; be an institution that preserves the understanding of a democratic, secular and social justice government.​ ​
