Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The ISO 17025 Laboratory Accreditation Training for the 78 commodity exchanges with laboratories have begun today. The three-day trainings will be conducted in two parts and will be attended by exchange directors as well as laboratory and quality charges.​

Turkish and Danish CEOs met for a roundtable meeting as part of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül’s Denmark state visit, discussing bilateral trade opportunities. President Gül spoke during the meeting, which was also attended by TOBB Vice President Çamur Ali Kopuz, said, “For the first time in history we are conducting a state visit on a presidential level. We are accompanied by a large delegation of businessmen.”​

The 17th Turkish Speaking Entrepreneurs Program, attended by 45 entrepreneurs from 23 countries and 2 autonomous regions, was held between the 1st and 13th of March 2014 in Ankara, Bursa, Adana, Mersin and İstanbul. ​

The Workplace Hazard Classification Commission held its first meeting of 2014 on March 12th and 13th at the Labor and Social Security Ministry.​

ABİGEM Project 2nd Consultation Committee Meeting was held at TOBB with the attendance of TOBB Board Member Necdet Özer.​

TOBB Board Vice President and DEİK Board Member Halim Mete said, “Africa’s integration to the global system, taking its rightful place in the global economic system, while using its human and natural resources in the most efficient manner, to develop its economy is the shared hope of the Turkish private sector.”​

TOBB Board Member İbrahim Burkay attended the Export Oriented Production Strategy Assessment Council meeting presided over by Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci.​

TOBB Board Vice President and İstanbul Chamber of Commerce President İbrahim Çağlar stated that Poland’s choice of Turkey to diversify its foreign markets is viewed with appreciation and interest by the Turkish business world and said, “Our bilateral trade, unfazed by the global crisis, has exceeded 5 billion USD.”​

UMEM ABILITY’10 Project Memorandum efforts have been started off by representatives of Course Directors at TOBB.​

As a part of the Chamber/Exchange Accreditation System efforts, a Pre-Inspection Briefing was held hosted by TEPAV on the 3rd and 4th, 2014, aimed at 1st and 2nd term accredited chambers which will be undergoing Certification Renewal Inspection this year.​
