Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has announced its 2013 fairs statistics. According to announcement, a total of 407 fairs were visited by 15,500,048 people. The number of foreign visitors was at 527,748. At the fairs, 60,520 companies had booths.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), as a part of the accreditation system efforts, is conducting system development visits to the chambers and commodity exchanges affiliated with TOBB.​

The seminar focusing on the questions and answers as well as country notes concerning Business Environment Report, published every year by the World Bank, case study (“Mr. James’ Case”) was held at the Exchange İstanbul Inc. Conference Hall on March 20th 2014.​

As part of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey accreditation system efforts, the 10th and 11th Term Chambers/Exchanges which joined the process are undergoing their “ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Basic Briefing and Documentation Training”. The training lasts 3 days and is held in three groups.​

The Quality Management System Training for the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey personnel has begun. The ISO 9001:2008 Documentation Training was held for the internal assessors and department quality charges.​

Speaking at the TOBB-EU Delegation Visa Briefing Meeting held at TEPAV, TOBB Presidential Council Member Faik Yavuz stated that the visa policies of countries like those of Schengen states remain the single most significant obstacle to the development of economic relations Turkey and EU.​

The number of the newly established companies, cooperatives and sole proprietorships decreased by 19,41%, 16,67% and 68,85% respectively according to the previous month.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Vice President Halim Mete stated that Turkey has become one of the world’s tourism giants, “In the last 30 years, the number of tourists throughout the world has increased by 5 times, while Turkey has increased the number of tourists it draws in by 120 times over.”​

The “TOBB Chambers and Exchanges Regulations” training which began with commodity exchanges between the 19th and 21st of February, 2014, and continuing with province chambers between the 24th and 26th of February, has been completed with the training of county chambers. Attending the training were approximately 200 personnel, half of them secretaries general, from 157 chambers of commerce and chambers of commerce and industry in 160 counties.​

The ISO 17025 Laboratory Accreditation Training for the 78 commodity exchanges with laboratories have begun today. The three-day trainings will be conducted in two parts and will be attended by exchange directors as well as laboratory and quality charges.​
