Label warning to food producers

Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry authorities warned food producers to refrain from using incorrect or difficult to understand labeling in food products. TOBB Turkey Food Industry Council and TOBB Turkey Beverage Industry Council convened at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara under Council Presidents Feyhan Yaşar and Necdet Buzbaş. Also attending the meeting was TOBB Turkey Agriculture Council President Güngör Şarman.​ ​

YOİKK Guidance Committee held its 45th meeting at TOBB

The YOİKK Guidance Committee meeting was held with the Economy Ministry Undersecretary Ahmet Yakıcı presiding over proceedings on the 19th of November, 2012 at the TOBB Social Facilities. Attending the meeting in addition to the high level representatives of public institutions and organizations were Secretary Generals of TOBB, TÜSİAD, YASED and TİM as representatives of the private sector.​ ​

The number of the newly established companies increased by 12,53% in September 2012 with respect to previous month

The number of the newly established companies and sole proprietorships increased by 12,53 and %5,72 respectively while cooperatives decreased by 11,11 according to the previous month.​ ​

Transportation and Logistics Council discussed the developments in the sector.

TOBB Turkey Transportation and Logistics Council President Çetin Nuhoğlu and Vice President Arif Badur assessed the developments concerning the sector during the “Sector Councils” program moderated by Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin and Ali Çağatay on the Bloomberg HT channel.​ ​

Venture Capital Council assessed BKS

TOBB Turkey Venture Capital Council met to discuss the various issues of the sector in İstanbul. The meeting was attended by Treasury Secretariat Financial Sector Affairs and Exchange Deputy General Director Hayrettin Demircan as well venture capital, fund managers and high level representatives of civil society organizations.​ ​

Instability is the greatest enemy of the economy

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Foreign Economic Relations Council held a dinner in honor of the USA Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano at the Çırağan Palace in İstanbul. Speaking at the dinner, TOBB Board of Directors Vice President Halim Mete said, “As TOBB, we have undertaken a project in order to increase regional trade and speed up border crossings as well as facilitating and making them safer. We have taken on the duty of the modernization of our customs gates with our neighbors on a build-operate-transfer model. We have established the Customs and Commerce Inc. to this end.” Mete also touched on the increasing terrorist activities in Turkey, saying, “Instability is the greatest enemy of the economy.”​ ​

Inventions for children and travelers from Ankara entrepreneurs

Many interesting projects have been put forth by the 14 Entrepreneur Candidate Teams during the Startup Weekend Event. Two of these projects shared the first place. The first of these projects is the “Kitap Canavarı (Book Monster)” aimed at encouraging children to read; the other one aimed at making journeys more enjoyable, the “Keyf-i Seyyah (Traveler’s Joy)”.​ ​

TOBB Turkey Mining Council convened under Council President İsmet Kasapoğlu in Ankara to assess the latest developments in the mining sector. Council members put forth their views in regards to the plans for future endeavors.​ ​
